2016 Summer Olympics – Rio 2016
So today’s post will have nothing to do about writing…
Anyone that knows me has figured out that I am a huge fan of the Olympics. My family was fairly athletic with each of us involved in several sports throughout the year, we always stopped to watch the Olympics. Summer or Winter games, it doesn’t matter, I will be sitting in front of the television for all seventeen days of competition.
The 2016 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the XXXI Olympiad are being held in Rio de Janiero, Brazil.
The Opening Ceremonies were a little simpler than they have been in the past but I enjoyed it. The parade of athletes is always enjoyable and the light of the Olympic cauldron is always interesting. The moving sculpture behind the cauldron is beautiful.
The Olympic Oath –
In the name of all the competitors, I promise that we shall take part in these Olympic Games, respecting and abiding by the rules which govern them, committing ourselves to a sport without doping and without drugs, in the true spirit of sportsmanship, for the glory of sport and the honor of our teams.
Camp NaNo July
I almost forgot to validate my word count for Camp NaNo. I hadn’t updated my word count at all. I’ve been busy with my freelance writing and I nearly missed the deadline.
Clearly, I got to my word count and submitted it successfully. I chose my word count to be only 40K and wrote that much over this last week. I remember my first NaNo and how hard it was to write 1,667 words a day. Now, I can easily write over 3,000 in a day.
I could have posted the little banner that they provide but I love the cute graphic on my Camper page. So I took a screenshot of it to use here. Yay me!
